Thread regarding Halliburton (HAL)

Offshore business may save the day

The outlook for US shale is bleak, no matter how you frame it. Additional tariff-related pressures, layered on top of the industry's existing challenges, could have been a near-death blow. While offshore operations make up only about a quarter of Halliburton’s revenue, they - along with its more diversified US services and cost-cutting innovations in drilling - might just help the company weather the storm. I inherited the stock, and I’d find it hard to let go. It’s a bit of old-school thinking, and I know sentimentality has no place in smart investing, but there it is.
